Learn how to repurpose the Ello Fridge Organizer for small pantry storage, plus tips on using glass baby food jars for spices and snacks.
Quick answer
Yes, the Ello Fridge Organizer works great for small pantry storage. Use it to corral snack packs, spice jars, or baby food jars on shelves. Pair it with Ello Clean Start Glass Baby Food Jars for airtight spice or snack storage.
Why use a fridge bin in the pantry?
The Ello Fridge Organizer is crystal-clear with natural wood handles, so it looks good on open pantry shelves. Its open-front design lets you see everything at a glance, which helps prevent buying duplicates. The bin is sturdy enough for cans, jars, and pouches, but shallow enough to fit standard pantry shelves.
What about glass jars in the pantry?
The Ello Clean Start Glass Baby Food Jars (4 oz each) are perfect for pantry use. Their silicone sleeves protect against breakage, and the leak-proof lids keep spices, seeds, or small snacks fresh. Because they're glass, they won't absorb odors from strong spices like cumin or garlic.
Frequently asked questions
- How do I clean the Ello Fridge Organizer?
- Wash the bin with warm soapy water and a soft sponge. The crystal-clear plastic is dishwasher-safe (top rack). The wood handles should be wiped with a damp cloth and dried immediately to prevent warping.
- Can I use the glass baby food jars for dry pantry items?
- Yes. The 4oz glass jars are ideal for spices, loose tea, seeds, or small snacks like nuts. The silicone sleeve provides grip and protection, and the lid seals tightly to keep contents fresh.
- Will the Fridge Organizer fit standard pantry shelves?
- The Small size measures approximately 10.5 x 6.5 x 4.5 inches. Measure your shelf depth first; most standard pantry shelves (12-16 inches deep) accommodate it easily. It also fits well inside a cabinet or on a counter. Check shelf depth before buying.
